The Tom & Boy wide-legged shorts are dyed in charcoal grey to perfectly match the shirt for co-ord heaven! With an elasticated waist and pleated front, these shorts are ideal for autumn layering over tights or leggings. Their versatile design transitions smoothly into spring and summer, making them a great choice for school or casual wear.

This new AW24 collection draws inspiration from "My Favourite Things," a song from the 1959 musical The Sound of Music. In the film, the song is sung by Maria, played by Julie Andrews, to comfort the Von Trapp children during a thunderstorm. Maria lists simple pleasures that lift her spirits when she's feeling down, like "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens."

The song also lent its name to jazz saxophonist John Coltrane’s 1961 album My Favourite Things. The album features reimagined versions of popular songs by composers such as Gershwin and Porter. Coltrane once remarked, "you’ve got to go back to the old things and see them in a new light."

With these two references in mind, we asked children about their favourite things that make them feel better. Their picks include: little donkeys, libraries, bagels, pickles, and whistling a tune.
